Where does our church fit in?
Park Hill Church is a small part of the world-wide family of believers in God
through faith in the saving work of Jesus. We believe it is important to be involved with the rest of God’s family throughout the country, and so we have links with the Sussex Gospel Partnership – a group of same-believing churches in Sussex – and we are affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, with member churches throughout the UK. We also regularly discuss news from and pray for fellow believers all over the world, because God is the God of all people. The Christian church world-wide is like a body with many parts, we have a vital link with all other Christians.
“Just as each of us has a body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:4
Who are we?
We are a group of people who come together regularly to share the lives which God has given to us through Jesus Christ. We come from different backgrounds, but we have a common desire to find out more of what God has to say about life with all its concerns. We are a mix of people of all ages but we see that God’s Good News is relevant to everyone. When we meet, we listen to talks about the Bible – God’s revealed message – and worship God in song and in prayer. Our aim is to share with others the wonderful new life God has given to us and also to show that God offers to everyone salvation and freedom through a relationship with Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16.
We lay great importance on the Bible. We believe that in its pages God reveals His message of salvation for mankind. Here we can find out about how God has made it possible to have a personal relationship with Him.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16.
